Urban-Rural Divides in Contemporary European Politics
TRANSITION Dialogue with Alberte Bové Rud
Join us for the launch of TRANSITION Dialogues, a new conversation series by TRANSITION: Center for Changing Urban and Rural Lives. TRANSITION Dialogues invite thinkers and practitioners from all fields to explore current issues in rural-urban relations. Dialogue-based and open, these sessions aim at creating spaces for critical reflection and nuancing our understanding of changing urban and rural lives.
Our first guest, Alberte Bové Rud, is an intellectual historian with a PhD focused on personality politics in Italy. She has researched the European right-wing movements, populism, and political staging, and has worked at the Danish Institute for International Studies and is currently analyst at the think tank EUROPA.
In this session, we will explore:
- How current political shifts challenge traditional urban-rural divides across Europe
- Whether today's political potential is rooted in shared European histories or specific national legacies
- What insights might help shape future policies bridging rural and urban communities
Everyone interested in rural-urban transitions is warmly invited. Come and take part in creating the conversational space for today's most critical transformations and register for the event here.
